Principal Responsibilities:
We are seeking a thoughtful, creative, and organized individual to plan and lead educational and cultural
programs for seniors and other adults, with a special focus on launching
new visual arts classes as part of our growing adult engagement offerings. This role includes overseeing program planning, budgeting, and evaluation while ensuring alignment with the community center's mission and goals. The Director collaborates with staff, community partners, and members to create meaningful opportunities that foster personal growth, social connection, and lifelong learning. This is a flexible position that could be structured as
part-time or full-time depending on the candidate's availability and our evolving needs
Minimum Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement programs for older adults that promote learning, connection, and well-being. Offerings include This could include Brunch and Learn, Café Europa for Holocaust survivors, Current Event discussions, book club, balance and other wellness workshops, card classes and holiday celebrations.
- Develop and launch a visual arts program (e.g., drawing, painting, mixed media) for adults of all ages that is open to participants of all backgrounds and experience levels.
- Bring Jewish values, themes, or inspiration into the programming in accessible and meaningful ways.
- Coordinate logistics including scheduling, materials, outreach, and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Loves engaging older adults and facilitating programs.
- Familiarity with Jewish traditions, culture, or values, or a willingness to embrace.
- Background or interest in the arts and creative programming.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to create a welcoming space for both Jewish and non-Jewish participants.
Salary:
$45,000 - $55,000
