Congregation Agudas Achim is seeking a passionate, creative, and mission-driven individual to serve as our Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator. This person will play a key role in supporting the financial sustainability and community visibility of our synagogue through effective marketing strategies and fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate understands the unique environment of a Jewish non-profit and is excited to help grow both engagement and support. This position reports to the Chief Engagement Officer for Marketing and Communications, and to the Director of Operations for Fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising:
· Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support synagogue programs, operations, and special projects
· Coordinate annual campaigns, donor appeals, and special giving events (e.g. High Holidays and major fundraisers)
· Maintain donor database and ensure timely acknowledgments and stewardship
· Research and pursue grant opportunities; assist in proposal writing
· Support fundraising events including galas, auctions, and donor recognition activities
· Make phone calls and send emails to solicit donations in support of fundraising efforts and to help meet overall budget goals
· Manage and actively engage in social circles
· Help plan, organize, and execute events
Marketing & Communications:
· Create and manage digital content across email, social media, and the synagogue’s website
· Design and distribute weekly newsletters and special announcements
· Promote synagogue events and initiatives both within the community and to the wider public
· Maintain brand consistency across all communications
· Collaborate with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to gather content and promote programs
· Maintain and update the CAA website (e.g., landing pages, event content, policy articles, webinar recordings)
· Produce all internal communications and promotional materials
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in media, marketing, communications, or related field (preferred)
· Experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising (non-profit experience preferred)
· Strong writing, design, and storytelling skills
· Proficiency with tools such as Canva, WordPress, donor CRM software, and social media platforms
· Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Compensation:
· Hourly Rate: $20–$25, commensurate with experience
· Benefits: Health insurance and paid time off (PTO)
Performance Incentives:
In addition to base pay, this role includes performance-based bonuses tied to key outcomes such as fundraising success. Specific goals and incentive opportunities will be discussed upon hiring and reviewed regularly.
