Abraham Joshua Heschel School seeks a leave replacement lower school (Grades 1-5) learning specialist from August 20th until October 17th, 2025.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have The Following
- Master’s degree in special education, learning disabilities, or related field
- Training in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, PAF, or similar programs
- Experience teaching writing using The Writing Revolution program
- Experience administering a variety of assessments to track and support student growth, including Fountas & Pinnell
- At least three years teaching experience as a learning specialist with a focus on attaining early literacy skills
- A strong knowledge base in the area of learning differences, especially dyslexia and dysgraphia, as well as a deep knowledge base regarding ADHD
The Learning Specialist Will
- Provide small group and one-on-one literacy remediation to students in first through fifth grade, using a pull out/push in model
- Partner with teachers, families, and outside specialists regarding the needs and progress of students
- Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum and develop strategies to meet the needs of a range of learners
- Prepare individual progress reports

The full-time equivalent salary range is $55,000 - $95,000, depending on years of experience.
