Youth and Family Programming Coordinator (15 hours per week)
Job Description
The Youth and Family Programming Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing supplemental activities involving children in and out of the religious school, teenagers, and families with children. The Youth and Family Programming Coordinator reports to the Director of Program and Engagement and receives direction on Judaism and vision from the Rabbi.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify families with children, assist them in fostering member-to-member connections, and bring them together through meaningful programming
- Facilitate families reaching out to newer members and each other
- Advise youth groups for high school (USY), middle school (Gesher), and upper elementary (Chaverim) age groups
- Design and implement extension activities taking place after religious school, either at BIC or off campus
- Design and supervise babysitting and children’s programming during High Holiday services
- Create lesson and activity plans; obtain materials
- On-site supervision of babysitting and programming staff
- Shabbaton and retreat programming for youth and families
- Create, host, and facilitate retreats and other gatherings for BIC children and their parents
- Develop and implement camp-like programming at Beth Israel, in consultation with Rabbi
- Curate and share Jewish camp, community service programs, and Israel and domestic travel opportunities for youth
- Lead a learners service in the Chapel with BIC children, grades 2-6, 1 time per month during Shabbat Services on Saturday
- Attend a Saturday Shabbat service with BIC children, 1 time per month, with the responsibility of inviting and encouraging students to attend and participate
- Attend synagogue events designed for BIC children and families
Compensation and Benefits
Start date: July 1, 2025
Wages: $26 per hour
