Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health Educator to join our team and make a positive impact on the health and wellness of our members. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and activities to promote healthy lifestyle choices and prevent illness within the Jewish community.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and facilitate health education workshops, classes, and events for JCC members of all ages and backgrounds
- Collaborate with other departments to incorporate health education into existing programs and events
- Research and stay updated on new health trends, policies, and resources to ensure our programs are current and effective
- Create educational materials such as handouts, presentations, and online resources for members to access
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify risk factors and provide guidance on preventive measures
- Build relationships with community partners and organizations to expand our reach and impact
- Adhere to JCC Association's mission and values while promoting inclusivity and diversity in all health education initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in health education or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of health promotion, disease prevention, and nutrition principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience developing and implementing educational programs and materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn new technology platforms for program delivery
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position which may include evenings and weekends
- Some travel may be required for community events and conferences
