What you will be responsible for:
As Operations Manager, Legacies and Endowments, you will support donors in achieving their philanthropic goals by managing donor-advised funds, endowments, and other charitable giving tools. Your role includes maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating fund distributions, and ensuring compliance with policies. You will also assist with donor communications, reporting, and administrative tasks that strengthen JUF’s Legacies and Endowments programs.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors to assist them in their philanthropy and further their charitable interests.
- Maintain and oversee annuity and trust accounts for data entry, payments and coordination with the accounting department to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with life insurance policies administration.
- Reconcile endowment funds for completion of Endowment Commitment Forms.
- Manage compliance of Family Supporting Foundations annual 990 and Conflict of Interest forms.
- Administer Field of Interest (FOI) funds and coordinate distributions based on spending policy. This includes working with different departments and acting as a liaison.
- Review New Welcome Packet materials for donors who have opened Donor Advised Funds and review fund closures.
- Perform due diligence by researching organizations recommended for funding.
- Acknowledge contributions for endowment accounts by sending letters to donors.
- Assist with Donor Advised Fund grant approvals as needed.
- Assist with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
- Run special reports and conduct research as needed.
- Support JUF Campaign with mandatory campaign related activities on an ongoing basis.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years professional experience, ideally in nonprofit administration.
- Expertise/experience in nonprofit endowment fund management is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially in handling confidential financial information.
- Ability to learn new software systems, including Salesforce and endowment accounting database, and able to keep up with new technology.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with individuals and groups fostering positive relationships with donors and colleagues.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
