Principal Responsibilities:
The
Development Director is responsible for creating, leading, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission and financial sustainability of the organization. This role oversees all development activities, including individual giving, major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, special events, and donor stewardship. The Development Director reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely and collaboratively with the organization's staff, board of directors, volunteers, alumni, and donors of the greater community to meet annual revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement annual fundraising plans to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Manage annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and planned giving programs.
Donor Relations & Stewardship:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Oversee donor recognition and stewardship programs to ensure donor retention.
Grants & Proposals:
- Oversee grant proposals and reports.
- Oversee maintenance of the grants calendar to ensure timely submissions and follow-ups.
Events:
- Plan and execute fundraising events, including annual gala, stewardship events, and campaigns.
- Work with volunteers and committees to support event success.
Database & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate donor records in Bloomerang database.
- Analyze fundraising data and prepare reports for leadership and board meetings.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align fundraising and communication strategies.
- Support board members and staff in fundraising efforts.
- Supervise and mentor development staff (if applicable).
Salary:
$75,000 - $85,000

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of meeting goals
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience with event/program development and implementation
- Familiarity with Jewish traditions and values; Passion for Jewish experiential and informal education, youth development, and community-building
- Experience managing budgets and financial planning
- Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with several different stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Must have the ability to manage simultaneous tasks and work under time constraints
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with donor databases and fundraising software; experience with Bloomerang + Qgiv preferred
