The Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant to the Director of Rabbinic Career Services & Director of Search Services part-time (20-25 hours a week). The Assistant will report directly to both directors and support the work of the Career Service office.
Could be remote but working on east coast hours.
Qualifications, including but not limited to:
- Must be precise with details, very organized and attentive to the quality of work product;
- Quick learner with the ability to learn new programs and processes;
- Knowledgeable in cloud-based software such as Salesforce, Zoom and Doodle;
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities;
- Working knowledge of webpage maintenance;
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills;
- Professional and courteous telephone and office demeanor;
- Good conflict resolution instincts;
- Patience/good judgment with people;
Areas of Responsibilities:
- Manage flow of rabbinic resumes to congregations and other positions as directed by the Director of Rabbinic Career Services;
- Manage flow of congregation applications as directed by the Director of Search Services;
- Receive and respond to requests from rabbis seeking new positions, and from synagogue presidents and other leaders involved in searches for rabbis;
- Manage the Placement webpages including congregation application process of the CCAR website;
- Help coordinate the placement of HUC-JIR students about to be ordained;
- Track and process membership applications of rabbis to the CCAR;
- Maintain database and for all new members and potential members;
- Organize the semiannual meeting of the Rabbinical Placement Commission and take notes;
- Schedule phone call and video appointments and in-person meetings for the Director of Rabbinic Career Services and Director of Search Services;
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and other staff gatherings;
- Must be able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
