The Membership Associate will contribute to the mission, vision, and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by providing members and guests with a pleasant and welcoming environment as they enter the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown. This position is responsible for creating strong relationships between the JCC and its current and prospective members, along with providing superior customer service with standards of excellence.
- Create and maintain a comfortable and welcome customer service environment where every member and guest is treated with dignity and respect, in a friendly, personalized manner
- Acknowledge members, prospective members, and guests, as they enter and leave the building, welcoming each person as they come into the JCC and acknowledging them as they leave
- Manage building access, including monitoring database activity as members scan in and signing in guests according to JCC policies and protocols
- Answer member and guest questions by maintaining and exhibiting up-to-date knowledge of JCC membership, as well as all programs, services, and events happening at the JCC
- Assist members and guests with making reservations, scheduling services, or registering for programs and events, collecting payments as needed and making updates to their profiles
- Routinely make rounds of JCC facilities and facilitate the welcome desk to provide an excellent member experience
- Answer all incoming phone calls in a professional, friendly manner, transfer to the correct department and offer specifics as they relate to all JCC membership, programs, services, and events as needed
- Assist with determination of insurance program eligibility and assist with forms, applications, and paperwork for new and potential insurance program members
- Collect payment for all JCC services, classes, and events, and maintain balanced cash box that is counted at each shift change
- Ensure that there is an ample supply of all current Welcome Desk forms and supplies, and inform supervisor when inventory is low
- Work on special projects (i.e. mailings, phone calls etc.) as needed and directed by supervisor
- Be familiar with and enact emergency protocols and other policies to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all members and guests, referring problems to appropriate staff as needed
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, members, and lay leaders as part of the JCC membership team, including attending staff meetings as needed
- Adhere to all JCC and departmental policies
- Complete all additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements
The ideal candidate has very good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to follow directions and work as part of a team. Must have the ability to relate in a positive manner with members and fellow staff while providing exceptional customer service at all times. Should have proven skills in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite and must have the ability to learn new software programs as industry specific software will be used as part of this position.
