Description
Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, IT is responsible for providing comprehensive support for a private K-12 school as well as assisting in supporting the IT department at The J. The Manager works with users in a professional manner to help them resolve issues they are having with their computer systems. The Manager responds to requests, troubleshoots, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions. This position also provides backup support for the Director, Information Technology when they are absent.
Schedule
This position primarily works Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm, but some flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.
Essential Functions
- Manage help desk tickets; primarily for K-12 school
- Offer technical support to staff and troubleshoot computer problems
- Manage and maintain classroom and conference room AV
- Maintain inventory of equipment
- Manage and maintain student IT equipment
- Troubleshoot VOIP phone system
- Work with MSP for network and infrastructure issues
- Provide IT training to teachers and staff
- Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems
- Implement security measures
- Install and update company software and hardware as needed
- Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items
- Enforce systems, policies, and procedures
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent certificates
- Three or more years of IT experience
- Good communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Project management skills, including organization, planning, time management and prioritization
- Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Able to crawl under desks
- Able to move freely throughout the entire facility
