What you’ll be responsible for:
PJ Parent Connectors are responsible for identifying families raising Jewish children ages 2-6 in their geographic area, building relationships and introducing families to each other, and providing opportunities and resources to help enhance families’ Jewish experiences and connection to Jewish community.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide monthly Shabbat, holiday and value-based family experiences so that families can develop traditions and celebrate together.
- Communicate with families about opportunities in your community through specialized Facebook Groups, email, WhatsApp and other accessible modes of communication tools for families.
- Support and promote JUF Young Families programming to families.
- Contribute social media content on PJ Library Chicago Facebook page and in online neighborhood groups.
- Track families’ engagement and report to JUF Young Families Director.
- Participate in monthly trainings to learn and share best practices for engagement and outreach, as well as skill building to hold meaningful small group meet ups and facilitate connections.
- Support JUF Campaign and Community Outreach and Engagement on an ongoing basis
What you need to succeed:
- Outgoing personality who is excited to meet and connect with parents and their children, and get to know them
- Excellent communicator and excels at relationship building
- Passionate about Jewish life and interested in facilitating and participating in new opportunities for peers to meet each other
- Self-motivated, curious and open to new ideas
- Knowledgeable about local offerings for families both within and outside of the Jewish community
- Has at least one child in the target demographic of 2-6 years
- Lives in the greater metropolitan Chicago area
