In keeping with our mission, the JCC is actively seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and employee record maintenance under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources.
This position is fully on-site, and not eligible for remote work.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality for all employee information
- Documenting and maintaining standard processes within the HR department
- Assists with the recruiting process including posting and managing job information in our HRIS system (Paycom), sourcing candidates, and maintaining applicant files per federal and state requirements
- Manage New Employee Onboarding:
- Create new employee files on the shared drive and HRIS system
- Process I-9 Documentation and E-Verification
- Process background checks
- Prepare and type correspondence as needed
- Establish and maintain employee records, including recommending new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements to processes
- Ensure benefits enrollments are processed and submitted to payroll
- Ensure employee compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, credentialing, and other role requirements.
- Assisting in training and ongoing coaching for new employees
- Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs and update HRIS with new rates
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding the quarterly company newsletter, status changes, benefits, or company policies
- Process unemployment claims, disability claims, and wage verifications according to standard operating procedures
- Involvement in the disciplinary process, including communicating the standard as well as mediating conflict, witnessing terminations, and other actions as needed
- Communicating employee review dates to all department directors
- Maintain all company policies and raise policy issues to Director of Human Resources, assist Director of Human Resources in enforcing and revising policies as needs and educating all staff on any changes
- Conduct exit interviews with employees. Summarize and maintain documentation, analyze trends and provide results and observations to the HR Director and managers on a periodic basis
- Generate and/or file annual compliance reports (EEO-1, etc.) as assigned
- In partnership with the HR Director, handle less complex employee relations issues.
- Meet with HR Director, managers, and employees to troubleshoot issues and identify next steps
- Manage the lifecycle of the situation and drive to the appropriate conclusion
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- Communicates regularly with the Senior Human Resources Generalist about departmental issues
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, or related field
- At least 1 year experience working in Human Resources or related field
- Excellent communication, customer service skills, and work ethic
- Efficient, well-organized, and able to handle various duties simultaneously
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong team player
- Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment, including use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish preferred
- 2+ years experience in Human Resources or related field
- Experience with Paycom preferred
- Experience managing Colorado Childcare Licensing Regulations preferred

- Repeated standing and occasional sitting on the floor during the day
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Working conditions may include being in an open (shared) cubical or workspace area
