SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair work for the JCC’s of Greater Baltimore.
Under the supervision of the OM Plant Operations Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of the JCC facilities. All work performed by the Maintenance Technician prioritizes the health and safety of the members, visitors, and staff of the JCC and anticipates the needs and provides what is needed to keep all areas of the facilities running smoothly and efficiently.
This position will work at both the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC and Weinberg Park Heights JCC. The position will have a basic schedule of Tuesday through Saturday from 8am-4:30pm but the schedule may be adjusted to support various JCC programs and services.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform day to day maintenance and repair tasks including but not limited to:
- Painting
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Carpentry
- Some landscaping/ shoveling, digging, raking, spreading mulch
- Drywall install and finishing
- Assist Sr. Director of Plant Operations and OM Plant Operations Supervisor with HVAC system oversight
- Work with Sr. Director of Plant Operations and OM Plant Operations Supervisor to oversee outside maintenance contractors
- Complete regular building checks and preventative maintenance on appropriate systems and equipment
- Keep current with JCC related policies and procedures
- Support the Mission of the JCC
- Represent the Agency and provide the highest quality of customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) years’ experience in maintenance/ trade. Painting, Plumbing, Electrical, and/or Carpentry, preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools including but not limited to screwdriver sets, hammers, pliers, wire cutters, wrenches, etc.
- Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Willing to work in various settings as needed including
- Indoors and outdoors
- Differing weather conditions (rain, cold, hot, snow. etc.)
- Tight spaces
- Climbing and ladder work
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- High quality customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented culture
- Driver’s license preferred
