Salary Range:
$80,000 - $88,00 Annually
The Facilities Support Manager plays a critical role in setting and maintaining housekeeping, program support, and event support standards, ensuring that JCCSF building, and event spaces are well-maintained and properly prepared for various functions. This position supervises and provides direction to teams responsible for daily cleaning and setup operations at JCCSF main and satellite locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of contracted janitorial staff and JCCSF event/program support staff. Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and monitoring performance for in-house staff, as well as supervising the work of contracted staff.
- Act as the primary liaison between the JCCSF and third-party staffing services.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, and professional development among team members.
- Assign tasks and schedules to ensure efficient coverage and optimal performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, expectations, and recognize outstanding performance.
Operational Oversight:
- Develop and implement janitorial policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent and high-quality cleaning services.
- Oversee the daily janitorial operations, including cleaning of event spaces, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
- Provide support to the Building Services team in performing routine and preventive facility maintenance tasks and minor repairs, as needed.
- Oversee routine maintenance and cleaning of three JCCSF transport vehicles.
Event Support and Coordination:
- Collaborate with program managers and events teams to plan and prepare facilities for events, including executing on floor plans, setup, breakdown, and cleanliness.
- Ensure that event spaces meet the required standards for cleanliness, functionality, and setup.
- Provide on-site support during events to address any facilities-related issues promptly.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all staff comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of supply areas to identify and address potential hazards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols including routine staff training opportunities.
Inventory and Resource Management:
- Manage and track inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Collaborate with the Director of Events to manage the facilities support budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources without compromising quality or service.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Generate regular reports on facility conditions, maintenance performance, and event support activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Janitorial / Housekeeping Manager or similar role in a large-scale hospitality or service-oriented environment.
- In-depth knowledge of green cleaning products, janitorial equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in housekeeping. OSHA certification (preferred).
- Diligence and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Proficiency in using janitorial management software and other relevant tracking tools.
- Strong leadership and people skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address and support maintenance challenges.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Windows-based computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); Salesforce a plus.
- Experience operating Genie life, forklift, miscellaneous machinery and hand tools (preferred); ability and willingness to learn a must.
- Valid driver's license, clean MVR and safe driving skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work takes place in a large community center, and involves regular contact with staff, visitors, and patrons.
- This position may require working outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. May be required to respond to facilities-related emergencies at any time.
- Work conditions include indoor and outdoor environments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have physical stamina; able to stand and walk and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, manipulate and use a variety of hand tools and other equipment
- Comfort working at elevated heights
- Position requires seated or standing use of a computer throughout the day
STATUS
Benefited, exempt, supervisory position.
HOURS/SCHEDULE
Full-time 40 hours, Monday- Friday; some weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
