SUMMARY:
Underthe direction of the Head Swim Coach, theAssistant Swim Coach, assists in developing, organizing and implementing the JCC Swim Team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.18 years or older
- Current American Red Cross First Aid Certification
- Current American Red Cross Community CPR certification, or equivalent
- One year or more of swim team experience preferred
- USA CoachingCertification Preferred
- Abilityto teach proper competitive swimming techniques
- Demonstrates knowledge ofsound competitive swimming skills, and the ability toimplement and teach these skills in a positive healthy manner
- Knowledge ofbasic exercise
- Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race,physical ability) preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides competitive swimming instruction to swim team members in Novice to Age group swimming groups.
- Organizes and conducts team workouts.
- Works effectively with other coaches as assigned.
- Provides motivation support and guidance.
- Works hand in hand with the Head Coach.
- Attends swim meets and swim team functions agreed upon with the Head Coach.
WORKENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is usually fast paced. This job requires high energy and interaction with swimmers and their parents, other agencystaff and members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing thedutiesof thisjob, the employee is regularly required to use hands tofinger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is oftenrequired to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
