Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and reviews programs, projects and services delivered to agency clientele. Establishes staffing patterns for Career Services making modifications as needed. Provides overall guidance and direction concerning maintenance of professional and ethical standards in service delivery.
- Monitors and evaluates employment trends to create suitable programming. Implements new programming in response to community needs.
- Participates in budget construction and adjusts services, programs and projects to budget.
- Create and implement service models and annual program plans outlining services, staffing and program goals.
- Plans, conducts, oversees community and business outreach development. Researches the market to assist with identifying suitable areas for launching new and innovative services. Assists with making recommendations for grant proposals as well as grant preparation.
- Skilled and adaptable in learning, using and instructing new technology for the needs of the program and staff
- Supervises the timely reporting of management and statistical data reports for all Career Services’ functions, including special studies and reports.
- Collaborates with Jewish Federation staff and staff of affiliate agencies in developing and delivering programs.
- Represents the Career Services programs, services and projects to professional organizations, civic groups, public agencies and the community.
- Follows prescribed safety procedures and acts to ensure safety for self, co-workers and consumers.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with professional standards. Works cooperatively with co-workers and maintains congenial relationships with Agency employees, clients/consumers, and outside representatives. Where appropriate demonstrates empathy and concern in client/consumer interaction. Complies with all appropriate Agency policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall direction and management of the Career Services department, coordination, and evaluation of program.
- Adheres to all Agency’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance on a timely basis; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Requirements
- Seven years of experience in workforce development especially in career placement or equivalent field
- Five years’ experience as a supervisor or manager
- Bachelor’s degree required, in psychology, counseling psychology, rehabilitation, social work or other appropriate behavioral science.
- Strong budgeting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and adaptability
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred
- Master’s preferred in psychology, counseling psychology, rehabilitation, social work or other appropriate behavioral science
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., LCPC, LCSW) preferred.
