The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan has an exciting new position for an experienced marketing professional looking to join a seasoned and passionate team. The Vice President of Marketing will work across the JCC's program verticals, bringing expertise in modern consumer marketing and growth. Reporting to the Chief Engagement Officer, this senior role is responsible for increasing awareness of, driving traffic to, and above all, growing and engaging with the audiences of the JCC. The right candidate will bring a passion for engaging with a diverse community, use data to guide decisions, and have a consumer-centric approach to develop and execute campaigns through effective communications, acquisition, and remarketing tactics.
The newly designed position on the Engagement team requires a unique combination of strategic and creative vision, aligned with strategic goals, to prioritize and own initiatives.
The work will include marketing adult programming areas and overseeing a Marketing Director of Adult program areas, the Director of Children & Families Marketing, and the Senior Director of Membership marketing to provide clear and compelling messaging to the JCC's various constituents. The role also oversees the work of an in-house Design team and manages external media and marketing partners and third-party consultants.
This person will instill best practices in creative content marketing, both in digital and print, leveraging modern marketing tools and tactics, and a test + learn approach.
This leadership position will present the execution and measurement of marketing and branding strategies that include, but are not limited to: positioning, budgeting, social media, email, web, paid promotion, experiential marketing, collateral, and content.
This is a full-time, in-person Monday - Friday position, with flexibility for some remote days.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience and outstanding abilities in strategic leadership and administration including managing budgets and resources, and skilled at developing effective working relationships within a complex environment as well as with external partners.
- Contribute to the overall vision of the areas, becoming a creative partner with the JCC Leadership team and Center Directors to enhance the visibility of the institution, campaigns, and events.
- Manage a centralized marketing and design team to implement ongoing, new, and seasonal marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Oversee specific key marketing for the Institution.
- Develop marketing plans and timelines and manage projects from start to finish, keeping all stakeholders on track to achieve desired goals and deadlines.
- Oversee the development of print and electronic marketing materials internally and manage a stable of vendors.
- Devise creative content for all methods of communication to audiences, via email, the website, print collateral, on and offline ads, and social media
- Analyze and present marketing activity and results utilizing supporting data and maintain a forward-looking analysis/plan and strategic direction.
- Manage budgets and deliver results based on KPIs
- Work collaboratively with the Product Operations team to optimize processes using modern collaboration tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a consumer Marketing, Media, or Communications field
- 10+ years as a leader and team builder, with strong acquisition and consumer marketing experience.
- Demonstrated experience and outstanding abilities in strategic leadership and operational management including managing budgets and resources, and skilled at developing effective working relationships within a complex environment as well as with external partners.
- Strong copywriting/editing skills and a critical eye for design and branding
- Proven understanding of current website, digital, print, and out-of-home marketing channels
- Awareness of and aptitude for learning and integrating best practices
- Hands-on experience with SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, workflow, and CRM software
- Excellent written, speaking, analytical, and project management skills
- Strong team management and communication (written and verbal) skills
- High-level analytical, creative problem-solving, and presentation ability in a fast-paced environment
