The Reba & Sam Sandler Family Campus of the Tidewater Jewish Community Center are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Facilities Director to lead operations across our dynamic and community-centered campus.
As Facilities Director, you’ll oversee building systems, maintenance, security, shared services, IT, and vendor management to ensure our campus remains a safe, functional, and inspiring space for community programs and events. This is a leadership role working directly with the Executive Vice President & CEO and as part of the broader UJFT/JCC senior management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations and preventative maintenance of all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool, etc.)
- Supervise the Campus facilities and IT teams, vendors, and contractors
- Oversee safety compliance, security protocols, and emergency preparedness
- Manage capital and operating budgets and negotiate service contracts
- Coordinate with resident agencies on shared space usage and facility improvements
- Support Jewish holiday observances and cultural campus standards
Requirements:
- 3+ years in a senior facilities leadership role
- Knowledge of building systems and contractor/vendor management
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with capital projects and financial oversight
- Comfortable with physical activity and lifting up to 75 lbs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities management systems
- Valid driver’s license
Certifications (or ability to obtain):
- Food Service Manager (VDH)
- Commercial Pool Operator (VDH)
- CPR/AED & First Aid
