The Infant Toddler Teacher will contribute to the vision, mission, and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by instructing and caring for children ages six weeks to four years old and promoting their social, physical, and intellectual growth with standards of excellence. We are a center that follows a “Child First” philosophy, meaning that all decisions and actions are done with the child’s best interests in mind, and all efforts are made to give each child a sense of belonging, safety, and purpose.
- Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
- Work directly with parents and families to develop plans and best practices for students, as well as discussing any difficulties the student may be having in school
- Create educational goals for each individual student based on observations and in accordance with state guidelines and ODJFS
- Create, develop and submit engaging, exciting, and explorative lesson plans
- Manipulate the classroom environment to supplement lesson plans
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play
- Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them
- Attend to children’s basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers according to state guidelines, serving meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines
- Observe students to ensure safety according to state guidelines and ODJFS
- Conduct daily point-of-service meal counts for students participating in the CACFP program
- Maintain a sanitary classroom environment
- Work closely with assistant teachers and floaters to achieve your vision for the classroom
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues and families as part of the Early Learning team, including attending staff meetings as needed
- Adhere to all JCC and departmental policies
- Complete all additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements
High School diploma or GED required. CDA or college degree (Associates, Bachelors etc) in a related field is preferred. Certifications which include First Aid, CPR, Child Neglect, and Communicable Diseases to be completed within the first 90 days of employment. Candidates must be able to pass an FBI/BCI
