What you’ll be responsible for:
As part of the Jewish United Fund’s (JUF) Young Leadership Division (YLD) team, you will oversee leadership development initiatives, plan events and programs, work with volunteer committees, implement fundraising initiatives, and complete other tasks associated with outreach to the Chicago Jewish young adult demographic. You will also assist the YLD Director in the administration, management, and supervision of the Young Leadership Division.
What you’ll be doing:
- Use independent judgment to supervise and provide guidance to YLD team members.
- Collaborate with YLD Board and committee members to plan and implement a variety of programs related to campaign, outreach, and leadership development initiatives geared towards the young adult community.
- Administer and staff YLD programs, events, and meetings.
- Build relationships with Jewish young professionals to educate them about JUF to procure their involvement. This includes personally soliciting donors for gifts to the JUF Annual Campaign through face-to-face and phone solicitations, and leading engagement and fundraising strategy decisions to bolster the YLD community and Annual Campaign.
- Provide support for all campaign events, phonothons, and special events. Support JUF Campaign and mandatory campaign-related activities on an ongoing basis.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 3+ years’ experience in a Federation, fundraising institution, or related Jewish communal service institution
- Strong Jewish background and experience working with, listening to, and motivating Jewish young professionals
- Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage, traditions, and Jewish Communal Services
- Capable of managing staff and creating a vibrant team environment
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite of Products
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to plan, implement, and measure strategies and programs
- High level of energy and flexibility
- Ability to be a self-starter and handle multiple projects, and work both independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (colleagues, volunteers, donors, community organizations)
- Available for frequent evening events/meetings
