Overview
Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is a leading nonprofit organization serving individuals and families throughout Westchester County. Founded in 1943, WJCS provides a vast range of supportive community services each year to 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds.
We are currently seeking a full-time
Director of Strategic Initiatives who will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational and financial excellence across WJCS’s programs. This position requires a global thinker and excellent communicator who can help manage projects and initiatives across program and financial operations.
This position has a salary range of $130,000 - $140,000.
Responsibilities
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, shape and implement improved internal processes. Regular program budget distribution and analysis is a key major function that would be initially developed by this position.
- Evaluate current programming through a strategic lens to optimize services across the agency and align with organizational goals and funding priorities.
- Partner with program and finance teams to track performance metrics and outcomes across funded programs.
- Lead efforts to ensure compliance with OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) billing regulations and oversee reconciliation and oversight of individual accounts.
- Manage the preparation and analysis of regular reports on budget performance and funding utilization.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines, especially those related to OPWDD services and funding.
- Develop dashboards or other tracking tools to support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years of experience in nonprofit management, program operations, organizational leadership or strategic planning.
- Strong working knowledge of OPWDD regulations and experience with individual accounts management preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with program budgeting, cross-disciplinary project management.
- Excellent communicator helping teams collaborate toward shared goals.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; with exceptional understanding of Microsoft Excel.
