POSITION: Budget & Planning Manager

SALARY: $110,000 – $140,000
Summary Description Of Position
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Budget & Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing our financial planning and budgeting processes. The position will work closely with various departments to ensure effective allocation of resources, monitor spending, and provide valuable insights to optimize financial performance. Analytical skills and strategic mindset will contribute to our overall success in achieving our financial objectives. This role includes managing two full-time employees: Senior Financial Analyst and a Senior Accountant for Systems and Process.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive budgeting strategies in alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with department heads to create accurate and realistic budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
- Monitor expenditures, analyze variances, and provide timely reports to management with recommendations for adjustments.
- Conduct regular financial reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Maintain accurate financial records, track budget performance, and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and effective financial management.
- Lead and mentor a team of budget analysts, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, conveying complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions to provide financial insights and contribute to decision-making processes.
- Evaluate and implement Operating Cost/Indirect Allocations
- Monitor and Support month end close process.
- Supervise two full-time employees: a Senior Financial Analyst and a Senior Accountant for Systems and Process.
- Work closely with CFO on additional projects.
Additional Duties
Be available to supervisor for additional assignments, as required, by the Controller.
Education & Experience Required For Position
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Budget Manager or similar role, with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting methodologies, and financial analysis techniques.
- Experience in the non-profit sector is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools including MIP Accounting Software, PowerBi; advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership and team management experience, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- A hybrid work model will be implemented for certain positions. This position will report to the Federation offices on onsite workdays.
