Hours: 25-30 hours a week (arranged M-F sometime between 9 am-5pm)

Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented
Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our members, guests, and staff. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding administrative and customer service support in a dynamic office environment. This role reports directly to the Office Manager and plays a key part in maintaining daily synagogue operations.
Key Responsibilities
Reception and Communication:
- Greet and assist visitors, members, and staff with warmth and professionalism.
- Answer, screen and route phone calls; check and respond to voicemail.
- Draft and update weekly voicemail messages.
- Support general member communications and email correspondence.
Administrative & Office Support
- Perform general clerical duties, including filing, scanning, and copying
- Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment
- Provide administrative support to clergy, senior staff, Executive Director, and committees
- Assist in set up and breakdown related to weekly services and events
- Ensure reception and office areas are clean and organized
Mail And Correspondence
- Prepare, sort and distribute mailings, reports and respond to emails
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems
Additional Duties
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Follow synagogue policies, security protocols and emergency procedures
- Exhibit flexibility by supporting special projects and other tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of receptionist, administrative assistant, or front office experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) or equivalent software.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Positive attitude, reliable, and team-oriented.
