As part of the Youth and Teen department the Assistant Director is responsible for daily operations, children's programming, scheduling, staff development and interfacing with parents. When the Youth and Teen Director is unavailable, the Assistant Director represents the Department. The Assistant Director helps resolve conflicts and models positive behavior. Youth and Teen has a seasonal rhythm. We hire seasonal afterschool and summer camp staff and the Assistant Director must meet the demands of the moment while planning ahead often months down the road. A successful Assistant Director will exhibit meticulous organization and attention to detail. The candidate must be flexible to manage demands simultaneously. Timely communication with parents and staff is critical. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Youth and Teen Director. They will be a positive role model for children and staff and actively help problem solve.

Lead Day Camps, sub in classrooms, drive JCC vehicles.
Organizing files, rosters and general lists for groups and children
Phone calls to families and schools
Contact with field trip partners
Organize staff training
Communication with parents
Organize daily schedules

Qualifications:
2 years of experience working with young children 6-12 years of age
2 years of experience in a related field with some supervisory responsibilities
Background in Education or children's programming preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to establish priorities, balance several projects at once
Collaborative, friendly, ad team oriented
Must be 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check with fingerprints
