Sangoma is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will assist in various accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Your Role:
- Maintain accurate financial records by performing daily accounting tasks
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all transactions are recorded in compliance with accounting standards
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
- Support the audit process by gathering necessary documentation and providing clear explanations of financial data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting inquiries and provide financial guidance
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and changes in GAAP to maintain compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience in accounting.
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with NetSuite, or similar platforms is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently
- Effective communication skills for conveying financial information to colleagues
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
