Sangoma is looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance department. Your Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded properly
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, analyze variances, and prepare necessary adjusting entries
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments
- Lead the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights based on financial data
- Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and prepare supporting documentation
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering professional development within the team
- Implement and improve accounting processes for operational efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience in accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and experience with financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with NetSuite, Great Plains, or similar ERP systems is a plus)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and external stakeholders
