Job Title: Part-time BBYO City Director

Position Summary
BBYO is seeking a dynamic and motivated Jewish
City Director to oversee and support its teen-led chapters in
Indianapolis, part of the
Kentucky-Indiana-Ohio (KIO) Region. This part-time position is perfect for someone passionate about working with teens, building Jewish community, and supporting youth leadership. The City Director will mentor teen leaders, support event planning and recruitment, and strengthen BBYO’s presence in the Indianapolis Jewish community.

BBYO is the leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement, engaging more than 70,000 teens worldwide in meaningful Jewish experiences. We empower teens to create and lead their own programs while developing leadership skills and building strong Jewish identities and connections.
A primary responsibility of this and all other jobs at the JCC is to ensure by whatever rational and reasonable means necessary that each and every member, guest and visitor leaves the JCC feeling just a little better than when they arrived.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Advise and mentor BBYO teen leaders in creating, promoting, and leading engaging chapter programs
- Train and support teen leaders in planning and executing chapter calendars, running meetings, recruiting members, and ensuring quality and meaningful programming
- Facilitate chapter meetings and events while empowering teen leadership
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive Jewish community for all teens
- Oversee chapter operations, communication, and coordination with the KIO regional staff
- Recruit new members and support retention through relationship-building and outreach
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer advisors to serve as mentors and role models for BBYO teens
- Ensure all programming aligns with BBYO’s values, policies, and safety standards
- Support logistics and staffing for local and regional programs, including conventions and leadership retreats
- Act as a liaison between BBYO, teens, families, the JCC, and community stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with parents, alumni, volunteer advisors, and key community stakeholders to enhance BBYO’s presence and support
- Opportunities to attend BBYO staff trainings, conferences, and regional gatherings for professional development
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Prior experience in youth work, informal Jewish education, or leadership development preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a background check
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Reliable transportation necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Passion for working with teens and supporting Jewish youth engagement
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teens, staff, and parents
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work independently in fast-paced environment. The position requires high mibility, standing, walking, bending, and sitting. Must be able to climb steps, bend and move. Must be able to lift., carry or mive significant weight (ie, weight equipment in excess of 100 poinds). Trainers must be able to spot clients executing an exercise and be physically capable of assisting them or complete the execution for them if they are unable to complete the exercise.
